Website Contest Winner Katie Bohannon

Photograph of Katie by Shannon Kelley of Shannon Kelley Photography

We are very excited to announce the grand prize winner of our first Win a Website Design Makeover contest.   And the winner is…

Photographer Katie Bohannon!

From all of our contest entries we drew 10 names.  Katie’s name was drawn as one of our 10 finalists and her incredible story moved every member of our team.  We can’t wait to help Katie get an amazing website and digital branding package working to help her business.

There were so many great entries, we are also extending a special discounted website offer to each person who entered our contest.  If you entered and haven’t heard from us yet, feel free to contact us now for details.

Here is Katie’s story:

Katie is mom to 3 miracle children and wants to use her photography to give back to NICU grads and special needs children.  Read the story of her children and you will see how these two things have impacted her life.

Like many small business owners, Katie attempted to build a website for herself, but found it a challenge to create the type of site she needed.  Photographers have a very visual product and Katie knew she needed a site that would set her apart.

We are excited for the chance to make a difference in Katie’s life and give her the type of website that can help engage her visitors and grow her business.

Subscribe to our blog and receive updates on Katie’s story and learn how her future WordPress website and digital branding package are positively impacting her business.

VIEO Design ADDY Awards 2012

Thank you to my amazing VIEO Design™ team! VIEO entered three websites into the 2012 ADDY® awards and received website design awards for all three!

Thank you to our amazing clients like Marcus Hall, Eddie Hopps, Bob Hertwig, and Justin Goodbread who inspire us daily to create beautifully designed websites that are also rich in function.

Thank you to our friend Susie Norris and the AAF Knoxville leadership team for putting on such a great ADDYs® Gala.  It is obvious that much planning and preparation went into this event and fun was had by all!

Knoxville’s 2012 ADDY® Award Gala celebrated the talents of our local advertising community with a  1920s themed Gala held at the Crowne Plaza.  Our congrats go out to all the winners.  As noted on the AAF Knoxville article posted today, the Knoxville ADDY® Awards are the first tier of the three-tiered National ADDY® Awards.  The ADDYs® are the advertising industry’s largest recognition of creative excellence.

We were honored to be part of the Knoxville AAF and can’t wait to be involved in more.

Website Design Makeover

VIEO Design is excited to introduce the Website Design Makeover Contest!

Seriously, it’s pretty cool.  Here’s how it works:

Sally has a pretty terrible website…or maybe it’s just not “great”…or maybe she has to pay her host to update it because it isn’t in a modern CMS.  But whatever her reasons, Sally is not happy with her website.

What’s poor Sally to do?  How about winning a complete Website Design Makeover to take her website from from average to awesome?!?

The website design makeover isn’t just about creating a beautiful website for the winner.  We also create a complete branding package so the winner’s website design look and feel is implemented in all of their social media, email and postcard mailing campaigns.

AAF Big Wig AwardsVIEO Design lead designer and web developer, Paul Gibson was awarded  “Best Web Programmer” in AAF Knoxville’s second annual Big Wig Awards.  This is Paul’s second year winning the Best Web Programmer award and we couldn’t be more proud!

Fellow VIEO Design team members in attendance were Maria Talley, Andrea Presley, and Holly Yalove.  We were all decked out in “Cyborg” attire (although we admit, we looked somewhat like mutant Zombies…oh well).

Nominations for the award came from within the East Tennessee communications community. The goal was recognizing the “unsung heroes” of advertising and marketing.  Paul was one of 3 finalists this year in the Best Web Programmer category.

The Big Wigs awards night held October 27, 2011 included a costume celebration at one of our favorite local restaurants, Latitiude 35.  The VIEO Design team enjoyed the chance to connect with fellow marketing and advertising professionals including WBIR’s Erin Donovan, PostNet owner Joani Leeds, Knoxville Opera Marketing Director Michael Torano, our good friend and Orange Apple Branding owner Susie Norris, and Designsensory’s Josh Loebner.  Josh won the first annual Unsung Hero Award for outstanding dedication and devotion to the principles and ideals of the advertising community.  You can check out Josh’s new blog called advertisinganddisability.com.

I’m so thankful I attended Knoxville’s sold-out Social Slam this year.  The 2011 event was held in April at the Knoxville Convention Center, and before we know it Social Slam 2012 will be here.  The 2011 event changed lives for many of the 430 attendees and received high marks in follow-up surveys.  Although there were proud sponsors (including our sister company Infinity Hosting Solutions), a number of the the speakers and panelists contributed expert advice at their own expense.

“Changed lives” may sound dramatic (I am sort of dramatic), but this unique business conference was not just a day of learning the latest and greatest in digital media trends. Social Slam was thought-provoking, inspiring, and will surly change the way many attendees think and plan their digital marketing/social media futures.

VIEO Design (follow VIEO) is thankful to Mark W. Schaefer (follow Mark) who organized the event and gave us a chance to be part of it.  Mark is a globally-recognized blogger, educator, business consultant, and the author of the popular Tao of Twitter book.  Mark spoke throughout the 2011 event which included many other talented speakers and panelists including:

Other speakers and moderators included Ryan T. Sauers (follow Ryan), Deborah Weinstein, Jeremy Victor, Billy Mitchell, Amy D. Howell, Glen D. Gilmore, Anne Deeter Gallaher, Eric T. Epperson, Tom Webster, Chad Parizman, Jennifer Kane, and Jeremy Floyd.

The first keynote speaker for Social Slam 2012 was just announced as Mitch Joel (follow Mitch), the author of Six Pixels of Separation.  Tickets will go on sale December 1, 2011 so get yours early if you plan to attend the conference on April 27, 2012 in Knoxville, TN.
