Just in case you missed the news…September 19, 2012 is the 10th anniversary of International Talk Like A Pirate Day. The popularity of this “holiday” was undoubtedly increased by social media. The International Talk Like A Pirate Facebook page enjoyed quite a boost today with the most activity happening in Sydney, Australia.
According to their Facebook page, International Talk Like A Pirate Day has been celebrated by millions of people on all seven continents including the South Pole and the International Space Station. This day was originally started by two creative American buccaneers from Oregon, John Baur and Mark Summers.
At the time of this post 2012 activity still hasn’t topped the page’s most popular week this time last year.
Did you celebrate? Any fun pirate jargon to share?
