Portfolio

The Center For Science Education is an endeavour to bring real-world science and scientific data to the classroom.  VIEO was approached with the task of creating a dynamic, visually interesting site.  The client also needed the ability to easily update their own content without any knowledge of HTML.  In addition, there were several unique interactive elements they wished to have on the site: a calendar and event system, polls, request and sign up forms, image rotators, RSS feeds and more.  VIEO implemented a custom Joomla solution for the project.  By utilizing a variety of powerful off the shelf plug ins VIEO was able to provide the client with all the functionality they require for far less than the cost of a custom coded solution.  As an added complexity, the client required a server of their own for security and performance concerns.  VIEO teamed with its hosting partner to deliver all the required hosting needs in a timely manner at a competitive price.

Congressman John Boccieri's website was originally designed in Joomla 1.0  In preparation for a move to the new Joomla 1.5, the template had to be recreated.  VIEO teamed with the original designers of the Boccieri web site to convert the existing HTML structure over to the new Joomla 1.5 platform.  Due to the core differences in the structures of the two systems, part of the code was preserved from the original site.  Part of it was incorporated from and existing template, and part of it was created specifically for the project.  The new template uses many CSS techniques to allow the site to evolve visually as the need arises.

Eye Vibe Studio is the portfolio and e-commerce website for local Knoxville artist, Tina Webb.  She needed a website that she could easily maintain that allowed her to run a simple store, and showcase her work.  All this needed to be done on a budget.  VIEO set up a Joomla site with a VirtueMart plugin.  By keeping the customization of the template she had selected to a minimum, VIEO was able to meet the budget and still deliver the functionality she required.

Sweet Sparkle Designs, LLC is the portfolio and e-commerce website for local jewelry design artist, Holly Yalove.  Sweet Sparkle Designs is primarily an online business specializing in handcrafted custom jewelry.  Holly had some previous web experience and wanted an affordable website solution that would allow her to configure, change, and update her store daily as her business grew.  Sweet Sparkle Designs requested VIEO's assistance with her logo, branding, and initial site set up.  VIEO consulted with Sweet Sparkle Designs to create her "Key" logo and customized a Joomla template to incorporate her company colors.  VIEO set up the site with a VirtueMart plugin and, as requested, let Holly handle her own store configuration and product additions.  Sweet Sparkle Designs later contacted VIEO for consulting on Web Analytics, Search Engine Optimization, and Social Networking.
