In addition to our new Inbound Marketing Project Manager Amanda Martin, VIEO has another new face around our office – Lauren Nelson, our new Graphic Design Intern!
We’re very happy to have Lauren, and even though she’s only been with us for about a week, we’re already thrilled with her work.
Her VIEO Design internship is fulfilling one of her last requirements before she completes her Associate’s Degree in Communication Graphics Technology from Pellissippi State.
"We're looking forward to working with Lauren and helping her grow as a designer," said Paul Gibson, VIEO's Lead Designer and Lauren's supervisor. "Her work has already proven to be excellent, and we're eager to see even more of it."
Our two Design and Marketing Associates, Casey Owens and Melanie Chandler, spotted Lauren’s stellar work at the Pellissippi Student Design Showcase and lobbied to invite her to VIEO as an intern.
Though illustration is her favorite, she also loves working on layout design, including magazine layouts and book covers. In her own words: “I just enjoy making whatever design I can look really good!”
The Martin Luther King Jr. poster to the left is one of our favorite pieces for her student showcase, and you can view more of her of student work on Lauren's Behance Account.
From Nashville originally, Lauren draws and paints in her free time, often working with spray paints to create graffiti-style pieces.
This love of color and contrast is reflected in her graphic design work, where she enjoys using color and typography to create bold, creative designs. It’s no surprise, then, that her favorite artists include Salvador Dali, Chuck Close, and the graphic designer Paul Rand.
