When you started learning about SEO, you probably realized quickly that there's a ton of information is out there, much of it conflicting. You've probably also come across some techniques that seem like a good idea, even though you don’t yet understand them fully – after all, they’re coming from SEO experts, right?

TIP #4: SEO can be more than a little dark and mysterious, but it’s important that you understand a tactic before you try it.
There are many things that highly experienced SEO professionals may recommend that you won’t fully understand based solely upon their recommendations.
It’s never a good idea to try something tricky and complex without being absolutely sure that you understand not only how to do it, but why it works.
When you’re not 100% certain you understand how execute an advanced SEO tactic, DON’T DO IT. Google doesn’t play games with your rankings. If you do an advanced tactic wrong, it could seriously damage your keyword rankings and impact your website traffic.
Focus on the aspects of SEO you know well, and do them to the best of your ability.
As your SEO experience grows, you can pursue more advanced things… just wait until you understand them fully.
