We’ve finally done it! This is the last post in our 10-part “SEO Tips from Warren Buffett (Sort of)” series, and it’s one of the most reassuring of the bunch.
Sure, SEO is very detailed, and it can be really stressful. We know—we experience it ourselves from time to time. But I'm here to tell you that it doesn't have to be!
TIP #10: Stress is an SEO-killer every bit as much as it is a people-killer.
Way back in the day, our hunter-gatherer ancestors had to react quickly to stimuli in their environments, or they could turn into what’s for dinner.
That was the case for tens of thousands of years, so our nervous systems tend to react in a big way when we perceive threats in our environment.
In the workplace, those perceived threats can include difficult SEO tasks or results that weren't as good as you were expecting.
Just remember: this is SEO. No one is going to die.
You don’t have to react immediately to every fire that pops up. Stop and take a deep breath. Do some research to understand what’s happening and what your best course of action will be. Talk it over with someone on your team and bounce ideas off of each other.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that SEO doesn’t have to be stressful, ever. Hire good people, make good plans, and stick to them. When problems pop up, remember the tips above, and try to avoid making mistakes on top of mistakes.
Hey—if Warren Buffett can do it with dozens of multi-million-dollar corporations, you can do it with your company’s SEO efforts!
