SEO Tips from Warren Buffett, Part 9: Take the Time to Plan

SEO Tips from Warren Buffett 9

Have you ever heard the old adage, “measure twice, cut once”? Well, it’s good advice.

Sure, you want to do something to increase your web traffic, lower your bounce rate, and get search engines serving up your content to potential leads, but jumping into something you haven’t taken the time to plan and analyze won’t help you reach those goals – even if it feels like it will.

TIP #9: Don’t take action just to keep from sitting still.

Warren Buffett Quote 9SEO is hard work, and it can often give you the sense of slogging through 4 feet of mud in last year’s flip-flops.

Don’t allow yourself to be lulled by lots of hard work that brings slow progress into thinking that you should do something big to get things rolling.

If you jump on a jet ski in that mud pit and hit full throttle, you’ll kick up a lot of mud, but you won’t achieve anything other than burning out your engine.

Today in our series of SEO tips: If you’re not satisfied with what’s happening, first determine what, if anything is wrong. Then, and only then, take action.

Go to your reports and review what’s been done, and think about what hasn’t been done. Next, build a solid plan for what to do based on the best resources you can find that discuss your problem.

Remember: ready, aim, fire. No other procedure should be considered.
