Video Blogging Is Easier Than You Think

Video marketing is starting to become one of those buzz words we all get tired of hearing. We're constantly being told that it's the next big thing, and we should all be doing it right now.

Why? There are lots of compelling statistics , including these:

  • Videos double the length of time visitors spend on your website and lead to an average increase of 157% in organic search traffic (MarketingSherpa)
  • Blog posts incorporating video attract 3X as many inbound links as blog posts without video (Moz)
  • People remember videos - the information retained after watching a one-minute online video equals about 1.8 million written words (Brainshark)

You're probably thinking, “But we don’t have the money to buy all that special equipment!”

Luckily, there’s no need for fancy cameras, professional studio lights, or a microphone that costs an arm and a leg to start producing high-quality video blogs for your company.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret, but don’t tell anyone, okay? Video blogging is easier than you think. We decided to create this video blog with an iPhone 5 and under $100 in upgrades, just to show you that everyone can do it. So without further ado, here it is!

Now tell me that doesn’t make you want to make a trip to Home Depot, put on your DIY hat, and press the record button on your iPhone! Here at VIEO Design, we're extremely excited about video marketing and its potential for telling stories with emotion (though I have to admit that humor is our favorite, in case you can't tell from the video).

You know the old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, I say that a 1-minute video is worth a million words (1.8 million, to be exact)! So pull out your iPhone and start video blogging today. Don’t forget to share your video with us - we'd love to see what you come up with!
